My name is Alastair Rose and welcome to Traitscape
This online gallery has gone through many changes over the past couple of years and this version you see before is the latest. Unlike its predecessors, this one has a blog to add mobile phone pictures as and when I take them.
Its main function is to show off my artwork and photographs to the world, because
I want them to be seen and if someone finds interest in them, so much the better.

The artwork section is where work that has been done over the last few years is on display. Most of it is from my time at Harrogate College where lots of life drawing was done.
The other section is full of photographs which I really want to add to with lots of different styles and techniques. My main camera at the moment is a Nikon D40x which is a great DSLR and it holds its head up well against the others in
its class. The other I own is a Fuji Film 9500. This proved to be very versatile with great images. When shooting in Raw mode, this camera punches well above its weight. I also have some old manual film SLRs and a pin hole camera. These photographs will get there own section.
There is a shop due to be built which will sell artwork and prints.
The site will be updated on a regular basis with photographs in the blog.
